Thank you for these prayers and meditations that I learned about through a book that inadvertently, accidentally came into my hands at the library. I have started to come in every morning to share in this prayer and it is wonderful.

I want to thank you for creating this online prayer site. I was searching for techniques to help me keep my mind focused on prayers as my thoughts tend to drift off and I get discouraged. Sacred Space is an oasis of peace, reflection, thanksgiving and hope on the internet. Christ’s presence really is everywhere! When I visit the site I can forget about the world and my troubles and offer them all up. I find this very holistic and healing and nothing else in this world can give me this. I want to thank the Jesuits’ for their work on this site and say it is much appreciated.
I also want to thank you for the representation of lectio divina. This is the most beautifully clear and concise explanation of this way of prayer that I have ever encountered. I have found that the Sacred Space is a good place to come to between lunch and the afternoons tasks and appointments. A time of quite prayer, and reflection on the Gospel heard at the morning Mass each day. A spiritually refreshing moment in the middle of the day.
I’ve recently come to this site and I have it on the desktop of my computer at work. As soon as I get in in the morning, I read the days prayer. It’s often the only quiet time I get there and it sets me up for the day, especially if things I read that morning come back into my mind later on when I need to get things in perspective.

I love “Sacred space” website and it’s daily devotional guide. The pages really feels sacred. I like especially it’s minimalist format. Immediately as I go into the page it calms me and unclutters my thoughts unlike many devotional sites that say so many words filling the mind but not the soul.

It is a comfort to read the scriptures in a calm and inviting format and to know that people all over the world join me in prayer. This society of ours can be quite isolating and prayer, like song, is a universal and deeply felt yearning. As we reach out to our God we also reach out to, and pray for one another. As 2009 draws to an end I would be remiss in not telling you what a difference Sacred Space has made in my prayer life since I became aware of your site. Consistancy in prayer has always been a problem for me as I am somewhat ADD and have always had a problem being able to sit still and concentrate. By making sacred space my home page I am able to devote the first ten to fifteen minutes of my day to prayer. When possible I also visit Living Space and I have probably done 5 or 6 Novenas to the Sacred Heart. For the first time in my life I can honestly say that I have a regular consistant and meaningful prayer life. Thank you for being here!

I have been using Sacred Space since I first found it on the website of Archdiocese of Dublin. I have not used it every day but I come back to it frequently. Today’s prayer was really uplifting. How often we need to be reminded who Jesus is and what he has done for us. May you continue to remind us where we are in our relationship with Jesus.

Then, in an effort to be more environmentally friendly, I began to visit the Sacred Space site for my daily devotions. Sacred Space has helped me get through everyday during this difficult and trying period in my life. I was laid-off in July, am getting worried now with my financial situation since I still remain unemployed, but I am hopeful that God will hear my prayers soon. He makes all things possible in His time. I just need to give all my Trust in Him.
My wife gave me a copy of the Sacred Space Advent booklet before I left her in London to work in Saudi Arabia . We have been following the daily prayers together. We have been married 30 years now and we share our love daily in our Sacred Space together, though many miles apart- a reliable source of inspiration and peace in a country where our faith is not publicly permitted. I hear the call to prayer every morning at 5 am, a beautiful wave of sound audible first in the far distance then graudually crossing the city to arrive through the amplifier at the mosque next door. Each voice is distinctive and different yet part of a great voice. I thank God for the loving gift of His Son and feel a small part of a perfect prayer being offered daily as a giant wave across the world, East to West.
I feel moved to know I pray with so many others at this sacred space, in front of this screen which links me with other women and men of prayer.
I am currently unemployed and sometimes get discouraged. Spending my first few minutes in the early morning hours with Sacred Space has been wonderful. In the quiet, reading these reflections, I can truly hear the Lord speaking to my heart! Thank you for this beautiful site and the work you do to maintain it.

In preparing for Mass for Sunday, I found the commentaries on the readings were very thought provoking. God does not change. I hurt myself when I sin and my relationship with God. God loves me and that does not change even though I sin. God does not get back at me for what I do but wants me to have a good relationship with Him. God is always welcoming no matter what I do.
I was so pleased to finally get here, it has allowed me feel good about myself and how I feel about so much. Thank you for sharing the love of God with all who want and need it. I am hoping to begin a new form of life style, with your help I know I will.

I have been coming to Sacred Space for about 10 years now and have suggested it to many people of different faiths. It is such a deep comfort to me to come here early every a.m. to start my day. When I awake feeling that “floating anxiety” over many problems of mine or those I care about. I feel very centered and in peace immediately after reading the day’s calming message. Thank you for this website. I used to use it fairly regularly, but in the past couple of years, I slipped away, although when I bought a new computer last year, I still kept it on my list of favorites. I awoke very early this morning and thought that maybe I was being prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray. My mind was full of all my anxieties, and I could not focus. I came to the computer and pulled up the Sacred Space site. The reading was Luke 12:49-53. I prayed that I never understood this reading. Then reflected on all the divisions in my life, and what causes them. They are all caused by people not accepting the truth for one reason or another. It gave me hope, and also focus for my prayer. I am sure the Spirit would have led me to this understanding anyway, but thank you for being the vehicle that He chose. I will continue praying with this site again.

As a public school teacher, I must live a very secular life, especially at work. Sacred Space offers me an opportunity on break to reconnect and rejuvenate. As I learned in parochial school years ago: “You can’t give what you don’t have.” If I don’t have joy and a spiritual center, then I don’t have much to give to my students. Actually, I use the pattern of Sacred Space at times for reading classes. It reminds me of Lectio Divina from a retreat I went on in college.

i have been using your Sacred Space Book almost daily for a few years and have found the depth of understanding immeasurable. Your words have given me permission to “picture” Jesus and to experience the change in attitude which that glimpse of understanding and tender love can bring. It is also helping me to allow myself to admit the truth that God is always present in acts of love, kindness and human affection. I belong to an Anglican evangelical church yet I find this dimension and the nourishment your site gives helps me to pray and ironically more attracted to and less fearful of reading the Bible (ironically because we are a very Bible-based church). Today’s Commentary on Luke 8:19-21. I see it like this. After Jesus has been told that His mother and brothers are outside the crowd opens up and Jesus is looking with love at His mother and brothers and affirming them “My mother and brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.” I hope this helps to dispel any thoughts of Jesus being thought of as disrespectful to His mother and brothers. It sure helps me.

This is a fantastic service. I am a lapsed Catholic and haven’t been to mass for 9 years or so, since leaving a Jesuit school. There is a powerful spiritual message avaialble here and the daily piece of scripture complements the small prayers superbly. I am a new mother with an 9 month old little girl life sometimes gets quite hectic and overwhelming attempting to get through the day and keep up with life, the house, the husband, the baby. some days my heart is so heavy with sadness. i come to this site for consolation and persepective. today i imagined god the father who so loved us he gave us is only son and we reject him all the time. how it must hurt god to see what we have done with this gift. then i give my sadness caused by rejection to god and ask him to take it away and help me deal with it.
I am so happy to have come across this site. I needed a daily reflection and it is no accident I found Sacred Space. My mom is Irish and I am a Canadian living in South Korea. As I head home in three weeks I am thankful to have found sacred space to help me with the stress of transition and change. I used Sacred Space a lot in the past but had “been away” from it recently, primarily because I was not in a position to access it at work. Having just been made redundant I was once again free to log on and, as so often in the past, the opening message was absolutely relevant and pertinent to my new situation: loss, change, new beginnings. I’ve left a job I enjoyed with people I love and it’s difficult to adjust. But concentrating on today’s message helped me realise I must build on what I have gained during the last year in order to move on in a positive way. Thank you again for your excellent website.

Thank you. I turned to this today after getting a disturbing phone call. I had forgotten how my daily prayers got me through my life’s experiences. I had felt myself coming back to a life of God’s presence and this confirms it.
I am awed by how much God used Sacred Space today to assure me that He is with me in my inner turmoil. Before logging in, I was reflecting on my dilemma on how to deal with my ageing and controlling mother (I have unresolved issues with her that turn into anger towards her). In my reflection I was able to confront certain realities that I need to accept without also compromising my health and sanity. I ended my reflection (which I wrote) asking God to teach me what to do. Then I logged on to Sacred Space and I was amazed when I read the gospel today (Jesus removing the unclean spirits) and the “need inspiration” part… They spoke to me so personally. I felt so assured… I felt Jesus’ powerful presence, a very presence that could remove “demons” (fears, anxieties, doubts, anger, …)… Thank you Lord! Thank you Sacred Space!

I broke my foot this week and I was asking God why had this happened to me and trying hard to find the positive in this latest hiccup in my life. Then I came to Sacred Space and God reminded me in today’s gospel that Jesus couldn’t perform miracles in his own home town because of the lack of belief he found in the people there and I began to realise that I also had a lack of belief for not putting my trust in God. Once again I thank God for the gift of Sacred Space for helping us to make sense of our lives.
Tomorrow I will in to church to join all who celebrate the day of Saint Ignatius. I have been supported by his followers in difficult periods and now still are by all you do. Thank you so much!

I am what some call an “Almost Catholic”; that is, I am an Episcopalian. I find great comfort in reading your prayers and other writings each morning. You write for all of us and give us food for thought. I particularly like the fact that you raise theological issues that cause us to question and challenge ourselves. Thank you for this week’s opening reflection about carers and their great work and the people, like me, who now need some caring/help as my body slows down in all kinds of ways. I didn’t know it could slow down in just so many different ways! There is much letting go; sometimes just being resigned to finding yet another piece of me has given up or has been lost! And God is in it all.

I am so grateful to have found the Sacred Space website. My wife and I emigrated to the UK two years ago leaving our two sons studying in South Africa , this was not easy. Our visa required us to start a business up to remain. We have gone through hard and lonely times. Sacred Space is providing words of comfort to me at a very difficult time - following the news that my husband probably has secondary cancers in his spine. We are waiting for an appointment with the oncologist. We both feel surrounded by the love of God in so many ways and now would ask all of you out there to pray that we continue to receive the strength to face whatever the future brings.
Sacred Space is truly a Godsend. I have been visiting for about two years. The beautiful words of God from the gospel. The words of wisdom from your people, the whole structure of the site is so wonderful and helpful to us all.
My wife of 43 years was called home to the Lord recently . My heart is hurting on the loss . But i know she is with God now. She was a wonderful woman, kind and compassionate to all. I have no doubts that the words of the bible will help me to heal in time.

Sacred Space is a beautiful gift from my sister who first mentioned this site to me. I have gone through some difficult times in recent years, losing a younger brother to ALS and problems with my teenage son and daughter. Late at night typically when I cannot sleep and I am anxious about my life, I have on many occasion been drawn to Sacred Space and been gently directed back to God. Through prayer I experience the peace and love and insight into the reality of God that puts everything in perspective. Thank you and right on for what you do.

At a time when our faith is being attacked by atheists, treated with flippancy by the media, made horrible by fundamentalism, and damaged by the sinfulness and hypocrisy within religious institutions, it is good to come to Sacred Space and be in place where the Lord’s Spirit says peace, peace, to all those troubled and burdened by the troubles of this world.
This is the work of the Holy Spirit and I just pray that all who come to you will feel His love, be challenged, comforted and enabled to follow Jesus in His strength.

I too want to add my words of thanks for the work that goes on behind the scenes to make Sacred Space happen. Our ministry works with Christian leaders around the world and we find their time constantly tugged on by s many needs. As a counter measure, we encourage them to visit here daily and absorb the intimate reflections on Jesus.
A few minutes a day can be life-changing as you enable leaders to enter a deeper walk with him and increase their faith as they come to know God more fully through the various scriptural verses daily.

The warm Light of a Candle in a dark, damp Cave….. is how I would best describe this place you call… a Sacred Space.
Yesterday at Mass we were given a little blue card titled “Spirituality on the Go” . On it are a list of websites where one might go to find meaning for, to reflect on, and reinforce their Faith in God. Sacred Space is exceptional. I spend endless hours on the Internet and it is my Hope and Promise to henceforth begin each day with a FIRST STOP at this site you call Sacred Space. Thank you and may GOD BLESS and REWARD YOUR EFFORTS.
Trying to form and maintain the habit of either formal or informal praying is challenging. I have now decided that before I open my emails on my computer or open my text messages on my telephone I take some time out and open Sacred Space to see what emails The Good Lord might have for me. On my telephone I do the same, I have some prayers stored which I read before I open my text messages. The busier I am at work the more important this is. This is a great habit which I have maintained over the past 30days and pray that I can continue.

I see from Living Space in today’s commentary that St. Ignatius prayed that his companions would suffer persecution for their Faith - well, it is good to be in their company! Thank you for the commentary on Living Space. I did not realize this was available. It never ceases to amaze me how well the Jesuits anticipate the needs of those who come to Sacred Space to pray. For a few years I’ve been having a very hard time praying, except when I go to Mass. There are many factors that landed me in this mess, for a life without talking to Jesus seems to be no life at all. I suffer frim severe clinical depression and I take many medications. When I started taking a particular medication, it seemed that my connection with God ended. I could no longer sense God’s presence, a presence that had been so powerful. This scared me so much, I just stopped praying. I am now trying to feel my way back to prayer and a closer relationship with Jesus. Sacred Space and all the resources on the site are helping me do this.
Thank you, Irish Jesuits, for making Jesus so readily accessible to God’s children. I just want you to know how meaningful your work is. May God continue to prosper your handiwork. And may the Lord bless you and keep you.

I would like to thank the Irish Jesuits for setting up this prayer site. Today is the second day in a row that I have used this site for my morning prayer and today was the first day in many years that I had such an amazing, powerful, and helpful solitude prayer. Over the last couple of years I had neglected to continue my prayers and it led me open to many negative thoughts, habits and personal demons. I recently had a big change in my life by getting out of a damaging personal relationship and learning to be true to myself. I feel my soul reborn and that I am able to start a new life and live a truthful and wholesome life that God intended. I am grateful for the good works put into building this site because I know that if you have helped me as much as you did on just my second day of prayer, then I am sure that many others have been helped as well. I believe that God intended me to discover this prayer site at this time in my life and for that I am truly thankful.
Many of us are on the computer daily for our jobs and as a way to keep in touch with those we love. Sacred Space has been a portable constant for me when I need to find as many experiences of “God with us” as possible. Your web presence is a visual reminder that He uses tools of all sorts to speak to us in our need. In his Easter letter, Father Laurence Freeman of the World Community for Christian Meditation said this
“The work of calming the mind (‘set your troubled hearts at rest’ as Jesus said) can arouse strong resistance in anyone anywhere. The noisier the mind and the more imbalance and disharmony it causes, the more diffi cult it is to take the initial step just to sit and stay still. There’s always an excuse not to, something else that needs to be done or read, or watched or listened to.
The seeds of the eight principal faults identified and analysed by the desert monks are always there. They can be germinated by daily activities, work, meetings, relationships and accidents. Our imagination, fantasy, addictive patterns or the shifting forces of our unconscious minds can equally
activate them. Even the ‘ideal’ conditions for meditation can arouse these forces and lock us into mental states that make the work of silence seem impossible – look at any monastery”
I am ashamed of how much “noise” there is in my life.
I have deleted the Internet sites from my ‘favourites’ and truly wish to give time and space to inner silence. Perhaps, as members of the Christian Community, you would give me a little of your time to pray for inner strength for me? I would be so grateful.

It came to me today that Jesus still says to US ‘put your hand into My wounds’, and we see the wounds of Christ everywhere around us, we will only find him in the wounds of His people now. So, when I do not see Jesus, I can just go to those many folk who are suffering in so many different ways now, and there He will be.
Many thanks for this remarkable website which has been a great comfort and support. I have been struggling with stress at work and at home-my wife is severely disabled due to a tumour. Previously the stress has resulted in inappropriate internet use-not pornography but “glamour” sites. Now I feel that Jesus is Lord of my internet use and a growing sense of his peace and his presence. I would recommend making this site your homepage. I believe I have renewed my relationship with God - which I did not believe could happen online.

The readings and lessons put my mind at ease. I have many tasks to accomplish and spend much of my life running errands and working. Life seems so difficult and pointless. Yet, the prayers and scriptures envelop me with a sense of relaxation, of well-being, and my problems melt away.
Sacred Space has helped me find my way back to the catholic faith that I abandoned years back in an attempt to trial other faiths but realised that none other gave me the peace and quiet. I feel at peace and for the 3 months that I have regularly, almost daily, visited your prayer facility, I have found peace and I feel that I’m continually drawing back to God through prayer and my desire for His presence in my life has increased. Thank you for changing my life in this way. My the Lord sustain this good piece of work that you are doing for many people like me. Thank you.

Whenever I visit Sacred Space it brings me moments of peace in my day. This is something that I long for.
I pray on Sacred Space daily. It is a great comfort to me, and in my hours of need, it has been a great help to me. Through Sacred Space, I was able to recognize an absolute miracle that God performed in my life and in my friend’s life.
This is my very first visit and I am pleased to have found it. We are on holiday and while searching online for location and time of the local Easter Sunday service, I came upon (was led to) the sacred space site. Thank you for this wonderful facility.

I have found Sacred Space a place for peace practically daily and I have done some of the retreats. I did this year’s Lent retreat and this has helped me to have the day with our Lord. I thank a friend who introduced me to this site which I visited for the first time today. Thank you very much for the “inspiration” part which touched me to tears because I relate to Peter. At one stage in my spiritual walk I was “floating/gloating” that I am where I want to be and nothing would move me. At present, I just love doing what my mind dictates - I spend time at the computer watching movies, giving in to whatever whim I have. The bold confident me is nowhere, I am faced with the true weak me. But, thank you for reminding me that God is constant, faithful, knows my weaknesses and waiting for me with open arms. Thanks for the simplicity and challenge of your readings. I have been working with seven women who have been using your Lenten book as a guide to personal retreat these six weeks, and it has been both humbling and exhilarating to hear about the spiritual insights this has prompted. We plan to continue this discipline for the remainder of the year, but meeting as a group on a monthly basis rather than individual meetings weekly. I highly recommend using this resource to set aside time for a “Busy Person’s Retreat” at other churches. We will come to Easter with so much more soil tilled up in our souls because of the ministry of Sacred Space. Thank you!!

I’m very happy to find your web-site. This is what I was looking my whole life, the way you show me how to speak with God, how feel his presence, the way to touch him spiritually. You made feel like he was at my side, or in front of me, speaking like good friend, feeling his love in each word. Oh GOD you are always in my mind.

It is incredible the way how this site helps us approach Jesus through small moments of prayer. I suggest the following exercise: Pray in your office through Sacred Space; then go to your church and kindly listen to the gospel. You will be surprised at the messages that Jesus offer us! First, I share the thoughts of all who have written before me, thanking the Jesuits of Ireland for establishing and maintaining this site. I was formed at a Jesuit college, and the loving and patient influence and inspiration of those fine men is with me every day, if I only remember to recognize and respond to it. As importantly, I wish to thank those whose comments appear in this forum. Many of you have shared feelings that I also have, a continuing reminder that people around the world really are brothers and sisters; all we need to do to bring about a more peaceful world is to be mindful of it. Peace and joy in this season to all of us.
After listening to a lecture last week from Fr. Lawrence Freeman on how to meditate, I find Sacred Space helps me to prepare in the early morning before the silence of the day disappears. Knowing people all over the world also find comfort in this website is something else to ponder on.

I discovered the Sacred Space from my Boss and this is really great! I can now spend solemn moments in prayers while at work. I found this site a while back through the Franciscan Monastery of St Clare and Sr Patricia felt it was a wonderful “Sacred Space” for people to visit ,meditate and hear God speak in the midst of our busy lives and work. Dear Sacred Space, Thank you very much for this possibility. I can no more hear and my eyes get still down. So Information i can only have from special zoom PC. No radio, no mobile phone, no music, no reading normally, but Braille. I give your meditation to our group of deaf blind persons, they can’t see internet. We are very hungry for God’s word and so very happy to have it in your form of Sacred Space…and community, prayer together, also even in a “electronic way”! Most of us live in darkness (no more able to see) and stillness (no longer able to hear). Good bless you and your work.
Greetings from Florida! I discovered Sacred Space this week as part of a Lenten quest to incorporate the Scripture and prayer into my daily life in a more deliberate but accessible way. This site is wonderful, I try to start my day with the prayer, think about it throughout the day and then revisit it again in the evening, meditating on the passage and what God is trying to tell us. In just a few days, this has made a big difference in my life. Being the mother of a young son, these few moments of contemplation are a precious part of my day.
Thank you so much for making this site available to people all over the world, it’s very cool to think I’m connected to thousands of people praying the same prayers and to a group of dedicated Jesuits in Ireland who make all of this possible. The way the prayers are split up into parts, so you can really think and meditate on the prayer is wonderful, then to add personal questions in is really helpful. Then to link scripture is of immense helpfulness. I needed a guide to my prayers and your site has provided an excellent one. Dear brothers, I have always found today’s passage a difficult one, but your Inspiration Point puts it in context that makes sense to me. Not only that, as an ‘evangelical non-conformist’ I could be tempted to despise the practices of the Catholics, though still loving you all deeply. But not now - ‘pray as you can, not as you can’t’ is the perfect answer to my concerns. Thank you for increasing the boundaries of my empathy and love.

Early each morning when I walk, I like to take that time to reflect and give thanks to my heavenly Father for where I live and all I have. That’s not always easy with traffic and many other sounds intruding.
Recently being introduced to Sacred Space I found that I could read these lovely prayers without other sounds around me. I wasn’t distracted and I was in the peace and tranquility of my very own space. Now I can look forward to this special time each day. When reading these prayers I think often about the people who put them together, they’re saying the very things I need for that day. I’m very grateful for this opportunity. It’s wonderful to be able to access this website.
In the evening when I finsh my work at my computer it is so good to have this sacred room. It fills me with peace and it is easy to ask God for blessing of my day’s work. It is a holy way of living to account on God’s presence even at the computer. Let the Holy Spirit come into your heart!

I recently have arrived as a user of this site. As a deeper exploration of my faith, I have been reading daily readings for the past two years, besides reading the bible from cover to cover for the first time in my life. In the past two months, also adding sacredspace.ie to this routine has added more of a thoughtful approach. Your site has helped me find a more personal connection with the gospels. What a wonderful site!!! I was referred to this a couple of days ago and in just the three days so far I can honestly say it is making this a more fruitful Lent for me than ever before. I love the format and the simplicity. You write powerful messages about love, sacrifce, redemption and God but without using langauge that requires a Ph.D to understand. This lent I have purchased my first Sacred Space book for lent. It is a joy and a treasure.
Every morning I drive my children aged 11, 9 and 7 to school. For lent, the children are reading the Sacred Space book aloud every morning and chatting about what each days reflection might mean in the lives of all the family.
I was raised on a diet of evening rosary and I think this morning ritual is the 21st century equivalent that I intend to continue long after this Lenten season has ended.
We are only a few days into lent and the journey to school each morning has become a very special start to the day for all of us. My car has become a sacred space for 15 minutes every morning!
The book is very child friendly so far and as the days go by I see the children looking forward to deciphering the text in search of messages from Jesus to them. What a wonderful little gem of a book it is proving to be!

When I read that today was your 10-year anniversary I wanted to write to tell you it is an anniversary of sorts for me as well. On Ash Wednesday, 2007 I visited your website. I was struggling with an addiction to alcohol and feeling ashamed and unworthy. You message that day went something like this: “God hates to see you being pulled around by your nose by your weaknesses”. The image of being pulled in such a way combined with the thought of God feeling sorry for me, was catalyst enough for me to stop my destructive behavior and change for good. My life is immeasurable better. I thank God everyday but it occurred to me today that I never thanked you. Thank you.
The words and phrases that you use are right on. They are welcoming and encourage an open relationship with Jesus. You, at Sacred Space are truly led by the spirit and I pray that God’s will may be done in your lives and for the future of Sacred Space. I rarely hear such meaningful and relevant words from the pulpit and I feel that this site welcomes those from other faiths. You spread the truth and focus more on love than on laws. I am so thankful for finding your space. Since I have found the site I have rarely missed one day of reading scripture. If I miss a day, I have to find time the next day to read the scripture I may have missed. Guess what else? I have been attending Sunday services again after being absent for seven years. This place has helped me through one of the toughest times in my life. I thank God for all of you who work so hard to give so many hope and understanding in God’s love for us. For several years I have felt the need to respond more generously to God’s love. I devote part of every day to prayer. I read and study daily scripture. I diligently attend Mass and regularly receive the Sacraments. I have become an ardent student of our faith. I volunteer in our parish. While all these activities strengthened my faith and no doubt brought me to the place I am now, something was missing. I had a yearning to be closer to God, but I didn’t know how! Then I realized that I was relying on my head instead of my heart. I realized that I needed to open my heart, listen with my heart and respond with my heart. But again, I didn’t know how. Then Sacred Space Site was recommended to me. Thanks to your website and the daily prayers I am learning HOW to truly open my heart and truly listen and respond with my heart.

My pastor sent this web site to me a few weeks ago. I have visited it several times since then. In my prayer time today I felt strongly led to enter the space again and I have to tell you, I was needing exactly what I encountered.

It´s a quiet blessing. For us, working daily at our computers, the computer easily becomes a kind of “hostile environment” crowded with the griefs of the world, alarming news and all sorts of stress and bad impressions. Sacred Space offers an alternative to all that. It´s also good that the page so explicitly reminds us of the presence of our Saviour, ít´s too easy to forget his promise to be near us in everything.
Lutheran, Catholic, Orthodox, whatever, confessing Christians of all denominations need all possible encouragement in the faith in Jesus that we share. We are besieged by so many things in everyday life, we need the presence of Christ even in cyberspace. May God help you to continue your work in this site.
l always wants to do better when it comes to praying etc but never manage to quite achieve my aim because too often I let life get in the way. I’m really glad to find this website. It has everything I need to keep myself closer to God despite my busy schedule. In my previous jobs, I used to visit the chapel or the nearby church before I start my day at work. Unfortunately, in my present job, there isnt any chapel or church around. I have discovered your website through an article in one of our local newspapers about using the internet to communicate with God. Fr. Alan McGuickan, SJ, was being interviewed. Immediately, I was struck by it and immediately went on my PC to search. It is something really wonderful to start your day (and even throughout) with a wonderful prayer, lifting one’s heart up to God, in today’s hurry and lack of time, this is something really spiritual in which you can recollect yourself, just for a few minutes and think of the greatness of Our Lord and His ways of touching people’s hearts. If only the world would listen and turn to Him! He has given us so many things - just looking at Nature around us is enough for us to see God in his Magnificence. God is all Goodness, Mercy and Infinite Love. My heart cries out to Him when I see, read or hear about things going on around us, especially the young generation whose ears are deaf to His call. But God is Omnipotent, He is always ready to forgive and by prayer and through prayer we can help alleviate His sorrow to the sins of the world. His Blessed Mother is also there for us to turn to as She is our greatest intercession. She keeps His Hand whenever Our Dear Lord’s Heart is bleeding because of our sins.

My Sacred Space with you continues to grow daily, over the years since we have become spiritually connected, I have treasured the affinity that the writers so obviously have with Christ, the way, the truth and the light. But it is your insight, knowledge of the Bible, and of the people, places and customs that is so enlightening. Our parish has just published the first (of many we pray) magazine and Sacred Space, with pray-as-you-go info have pride of place for anyone wishing to deepen their faith and prayer life. Deepest thanks to the wonderful Irish Jesuits who produce and maintain this site. My priest mentioned it at mass last weekend, Feb 8th and I have been a visitor ever since. I teach Christian Yoga in a Catholic and Presbyterian church here in Connecticut, and I have used the prayers from this site as Christian Meditations before and after the classes. Especially about God The Creator from Genesis and how we are called to be good stewards of our earth and its creatures. This morning as I pray with Sacred space I take to my prayer these burnt out areas which surround me, and the people who have suffered so much. Where is God? I have an image of Jesus gathering all the burnt ones with gentleness and compassion, but the mystery remains strong and painful in my soul. i get consolation from the words “the Spirit hovered over the darkness” from that darkness came all of creation. Our God hovers now and will restore the beauty and life so terribly destroyed.

Regarding your theme for the last week (starting “As a therapist”) I read that several times to get the true sense of it. Rightly or wrongly I think I experience the same feelings because as a parent and grandparent I believe in “not stressing the God factor”. My whole life is governed by Christian principles and I hope that my children and grandchildren will some day know this through the love, help and commitment that I give to them. Conversely although none of my children attend Mass (I do have the blessings of the parents to take my grandchildren to Mass) I believe that they are all driven by love and integrity and that Holy Spirit is working in them in His own inimitable way.
I get great consolation from Sacred Space and when I press the “need inspiration” it always puts me thinking in a manner that is quite unexpected. Thanks for all the hard work. I also love the photographs and the messages that they evoke.

I have started using Sacred Space again. It gives great support but offers support as well. I find myself thinking of parts of each day’s prayers throughout the rest of the day. This week I have found myself dwelling on the love God gives us all the time. I find the section which offers me time to talk with Jesus very hard. It will sound odd, but I cannot start . I keep praying.
I have the Sacred Space icon on my desktop. It is amazing the sense of peace that comes over me when I click and come into this Holy Place. Even with the office sounds around me, there is a hush and a comfort!

Thank You for Sacred Space, I was introduced to it by a priest as a way of relieving dreadful stress and in times of great difficulty. However, I am very forgetful and tend to forget to go on to this site before I go to work. I’m good at praying for others, but sadly, not for myself.

I’ve been visiting Sacred Space on and off for about 8 years now. I’m so glad I “re-discovered” it, thanks to your email just before Advent began. It’s been a blessing, and I’ve passed on the web address to some who are younger in the Lord than I am and they appreciate it very much. But I’m writing to thank you for providing Living Space, which I’ve only just discovered in the past month. The commentary about the Kingdom of Heaven for today’s reading from Mark 1 - about the beginning of Jesus’ ministry - was brilliant and it just so happens that just before I came on the site to pray, I was trying to explain the Kingdom in an evangelistic letter to my son who is “pre-Christian” at the moment. What I read here will help me very much. Thank you so much for the work and dedication you put into this site. It certainly is anointed!
It is always a special time of day when I access your “Sacred Space”. How wonderful it is to pray and know that I am also praying with so many people around the world.
I don’t know if you get much or little feedback, so I don’t know whether my opinion is important for you. What I want to tell you is just how valuable your lines are for me!! There have been months and more when I haven’t found time or energy to open your page, but there are others, especially long chilly winter nights like tonight with people being bombed and dying in Palestine and elsewhere, and my daughter too far away without letting me know if she’s okay, when I am so happy to have this space to turn to! I know a “real” Christian should be independent enough to take her bible and get along with it, but your help is unpayable and I want to thank you for it!!

It is such a warm feeling to tune in and read the daily writings, while knowing there are so many others who worship Christ (as I do). May Christ’s blessings follow “All” of you wherever you go. The Lord led me to this website on a day that I was feeling horribly alone and as though He was no where to be found. Although we doubt, He always gives us exactly what we need. This site makes it so easy to begin each day in His Word, to hear Him, to know Him and to be transformed by Him. I am struck by the simplicity of the site - It reflects the truth of God’s love and availability to us. He is God, His Word is true, He makes Himself and His love known to us through the scriptures. It is that simple. No bells and whistles, no flash and hype. Simply Christ. May the Lord continue to bless you and everyone who visits this Sacred Space.

I just want to thank you for the Advent Retreat. Four of us, all members of the Christian Life Community, spent a weekend at a local convent and used the Retreat for prayer and sharing. We all found it very helpful and at least two of us were still praying it during the week following. Thank you
With every additional religion that I explore I find some gems of wisdom and beauty, some touchstones to the transcendent that I try to find a place for in my understanding of things. This journey began with acceptance of Jesus as bridge to God and I am not willing to let go of that. Yet, there are other bridges as well in the forms of people, places, religions, feelings and the natural world. Most recently, I am enamoured with the wisdom of those who follow the Tao. When I combined my long-standing love of Christ with my recent love of the Tao into the phrase, The Tao of Christ, and asked the Internet about it, there you were! Thank you for your expansive and encompassing worldview of the life and sources of the Spirit.

I started praying with Sacred Space about 8 years ago. Back then I used feel stressed and anxious on a fairly regular basis but gradually with the help of prayer online I have become a much more calm, peaceful and content person. This is a wonderfully thoughtful way to pray and at the end of each prayer session I feel the benefit of this peaceful time with the Lord. My thanks to all those who provide this wonderful service.
This beautiful site helped rekindle a love for God that was absent for a long period. The words of wisdom along with scripture really helped in connecting with what life really is about. When I start my morning with the prayers and meditations on Sacred Space it helps to keep me aware of the presence of God throughout the ensuing day. With all of the worries of our daily lives and the temptations of the internet always a click away, a computer is an unusual place to find solace, but that is exactly what Sacred Space provides for me. Oftentimes when I pray on my own, I really don’t feel anything. Perhaps that is because I am too easily distracted and I don’t really set aside the time to reflect on my relationship with God on a daily basis. Sacred Space is helping me change that. I sincerely feel that I am in Christ’s presence when I am reflecting on the pages of Sacred Space. I can’t put my finger on it, but there is a definite understanding that God is speaking to me.

I only found Sacred Space a couple of weeks ago. I was at the depths of despair in my life because of a lot of things that had happened in my family; it was like the old saying - it was “the straw that broke the camel’s back”. I couldn’t pray or go to Mass. God has helped me through so many difficulties in my life. This time I found it so hard to reach out to him. I am so happy to have found this website. I started the Novena and now today I have been to Mass for the first time in years. I felt really happy at Mass; next week I am taking my grand daughter who is my Godchild. Thank you, God, for finding my way to this website. God bless all of you who maintain this site. I log on every morning before I go to work to give me strength and guidance for the day.
It was a long time since I last entered your page. I have anxiety problems and a few weeks ago some circumstances made me feel really bad, and didn’t know what to do. I think it was God´s Providence that reminded me of your page, I just needed one prayer to get back to calm. It was wonderful telling Jesus everything that was happening to me, and feeling Him beside me; better than any pill my doctor gives me. Thanks a lot.
