Thank you for the prayerful reflections & challenges at the end of each on the daily scripture readings. These have been helpful in my meditation on same.
Wednesday 10 March 2010
Thanks for your encouraging commentaries on the daily readings. Focussing on the love of God and his ability to heal us is so much more useful than judging ourselves or others.
Thursday 4 March 2010
Thank you. I thank God with all my heart for the inspiration you give to so many people, including me. May He give you and your team and all those who enter Living Space an abundance of blessings day by day. May we all meet merrily in Heaven.
Friday 19 February 2010
Thank you for the inspirational prayers for each day which bring me into an awareness of the presence of my God in every moment of my day. I particularly appreciate the commentary on the daily readings which keep me in touch with my friends at Mass on those days when I am unable to be with them. God bless your mission.
Friday 19 February 2010
Thanks for providing Sacred Space and Living Space, which I now read every day. I get a lot out of it and it is helping me to make sense of my faith in Jesus Christ and apply that faith to real issues in life.
Thursday 18 February 2010
Thank your, Fathers, for this wonderful site introduced to me by a friend, who I now know is truly, a friend. I no longer have any excuse for not praying. Normally, when I switch on my computer each morning, I check my emails! From now on, I hope, I will log on to Sacred Space first to meet my God and be with Him at the start of each day. Thank you again and please pray that I will keep my resolution!
Monday 15 February 2010

Tuesday 5 January 2010
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your website - it is such a blessing and has given me inspiration and encouragement on many occassions - thank you for taking the time.
Friday 4 December 2009
Today I clicked on Living Space for the first time although I have been praying with Sacred Space for several years. What a lovely surprise! It is just another gift that was totally unexpected. I thank our God for everything, and thanks to you also for this marvelous work.
Sunday 29 November 2009
I always love your commentaries! I especially admire the way you provide one solid message from the three (Sunday) Scriptures. I also appreciate your real-world applications. Your analogies are so insightful and so clearly presented. I love that you don’t provide religious/theological language that is hard to understand, or that seems like the same old thing. You are always spot-on and relevant for today! Thank you for putting so much thought and effort into your commentaries. In His Love, forever.
Monday 16 November 2009
Thank you so much to those who write the commentaries for “Living Space”. They are valuable insights into the way things were in the time the passages were written which really deepen my understanding. For example, today in the story of Zacchaeus, I was enlightened about the amounts Zacchaeus vowed to repay as the commentary explained that “fourfold restitution was demanded by Jewish law, but in one case only, the theft of a sheep (Exodus 21:37). Roman law demanded such restitution from all convicted thieves.” May our God continue to inspire and encourage your writers and thinkers.
Sunday 8 November 2009
Thank you very much for providing such inspiring commentaries on the Scriptures. They help me to centre on the message of Jesus and encourage me to be faithful to prayer especially during troubled times. The days I miss reading them I know I have missed something special. God bless all who are involved in this ministry.
Saturday 7 November 2009
I love ‘Living Space’ each morning after reading ‘Sacred Space and ‘Morning Offering.’ The lessons from the gospels as explained are wonderful, and I look forward to reading them every morning, and printing them too. It’s only when they are explained like this, one is able to grasp the real situations at that time and down through the centuries right up to the present.Thank you for Sacred and Living Space.
God bless you all, contributors and readers alike.
Thursday 5 November 2009
Thank you for making the daily scripture commentaries available to all of us. I am so very grateful for being able to receive and share your daily scripture commentaries with others. Your deep insights inspire priests in their homilies and bring the Word of God alive in our daily lives. They help us very much to enter into the heart and mind of Jesus Christ and to develop a deeper relationship within the Church, with God and his people. Thank you and may God continue to bless your very fruitful work.
Tuesday 29 September 2009
Thank you for Sacred Space! It is a daily blessing to me and so many others. I always come away from it enlightened and peaceful. Blessings to you! Yours in Christ, Marcy
Saturday 12 September 2009
Praise be to God for your wonderful website and the commentaries on the daily readings. The commentaries are so beautifully presented giving one a different perspective on Christ’s teachings. So refreshing and nourishing for the soul and a perfect end to the day to go through the readings a second time and see things in a totally different light. God bless all those involved in the spiritual nourishment that you provide.
Wednesday 9 September 2009

Your writings are truly an inspiration and the commentary so complete; it certainly is food for my hungry soul. May God continually bless you richly in your endeavours. May He continue to enrich you with wisdom. Thank you for your sensitivity - you bless all who come to your table to feast. I really get a glimpse of what Heaven must be like with the understanding you share with us.
Monday 6 July 2009
Thank you for your detailed commentaries. So often commentaries are brief and focus on one small aspect of the reading. Your detailed writings give me a much more complete picture. Thank you for your research and scholarship. May it continue so fruitfully to enlighten the faithful
Friday 22 May 2009
Thank you again. Your new presentation is wonderful. I listen to the Reading’s in morning Mass, but there’s no homily during weekdays. So your commentaries are really appreciated. As a son of the 21st century, there is just no way I can have any real comprehension of the material without your explaining the context in the way that you do. God bless.
Sunday 17 May 2009
May God bless you for your wonderful website. It is such an inspiration and help to me, I cannot thank you enough. It has helped me in some dark times and offered me a way of being closer to Jesus.
Tuesday 5 May 2009
Your commentaries accompany me in my discernment and gives me courage to put into action the one that I have discerned.
May God bless you abundantly and please continue the good works!

Tuesday 24 March 2009
How I enjoy and am blessed by “Living Space” - as well as the daily “Sacred Space” prayers and the Sacred Heart Novena. I converted to Catholicism almost 30 years ago, but this Lent has found me feeling fully included for the first time. The spirituality reflected in all of the above rings a bell in my soul! It is a delight to worship with others all over the world.
Monday 9 March 2009
Your website is a source of blessing for me and brings me closer to God. It offers light in times of darkness, consolation in times of turmoil and spiritual guidance at all times, but all delivered in very simple, clear format and wordings. Yet, it touches the depth of the soul. Thank you for your spiritual services.
Friday 27 February 2009
As a Methodist, I have for many years attempted to understand the significance of and true meaning behind fasting. Fasting is not given as much emphasis in the Protestant Christian faith as in the Catholic Christian faith. To Protestants it is suggested rather than expected. We are told “how to fast” but not inspired to do it. Fasting is difficult for me, for medical reasons, and so I refrain from it. For many years I have struggled with the idea of its necessity in contemporary life, and wondered what I might do in place of it that could bring a singular significance to my faith journey. Today’s Lenten message has finally addressed the matter in a significant way for me. I can see now that it is not necessarily “what I give up” to celebrate Christ that matters, but rather “how I serve others” (out of love and respect for Christ’s gift of salvation and freedom to me) that matters. Thank you, Sacred Space authors for this lovely insight. Now I can finally fast in a truly significant way, focusing on what I do to show love of Christ, as opposed to what I have to give up to show it. donna
Thursday 26 February 2009
I am happy to have acces to this site, I’m realy thankfull for what you are doing, today, the new format is more pleasing and easy, the reading from the gospel helps me more to reflect on, it is a blessing from God I found this website. I thank you once again, for nourishing our mind with the word of God.
May God bless you all…
Thursday 26 February 2009
Congratulations on your 10th. Anniversary! I learned about your website some six months ago and have become a daily visitor for the daily mass readings and commentaries. I’m 86 and in reasonably good health, always aware of God in my life and constantly searching….
I now don’t know what would I do without it. The Scripture commentaries are the most detailed I have ever read and the insights are awe inspiring. When I finish the meditations every night I feel…….close and closer to Jesus as a friend to chat with; he’s accessible, yet such a great mystery, that I suspect it will continue like this to the end…..when the call comes…
Sunday 15 February 2009
Hi, I have only just found this site so don’t know about the new look, but what I have seen is a lovely presentation that is so easy to follow through without rummaging through the page to find exactly what I am looking for. I shall look forward to viewing it and learning from it too as the first comment I have looked at in the ‘Living room’ has quite some depth to it, and that’s exactly what I am looking for. Many thanks.
Wednesday 4 February 2009
Thank you so much for this accessible spiritual space. In the meditations l am helped to concentrate and not dwell on my problems. The comments of people from all over the world are also a blessing and inspiration. God bless you in this wonderful and great spiritual endeavor;going into the whole world with the internet.
Friday 30 January 2009
I don’t know how I’ve managed to miss this section of the site, but today by God’s grace, I found it, and it is the perfect start to my day. I feel confident and ready to go to work knowing that God will be with me everywhere.
I always used to feel condemned because I couldn’t “prune” myself to make me acceptable to God, but this helps me realize that HE is the pruner, and I am HIS to take care of. All I have to do is remain in HIM and HIS WORD, and HE will take care of everything, whether I am awake or asleep. It’s very comforting to realize that God has it all in HIS hands, and HE never sleeps on the job.
This parable is alive to me in a whole new way. I see myself now as the tree, God as the farmer, and all of the students whose lives I touch as the bird who will find shade in HIS tree.
Thank you for a beautiful start to my day! God bless you all.
Sunday 25 January 2009
What a gift your commentaries are - and internet access makes them unusually accessible. I work as concierge in a resort hotel. The lobby is quite busy this morning. I left home without being able to say my prayers. but I have you “on” at my desk. You bring the Lord’s presence to life in this my ordinary life. While a little distracting this morning, without your “presence” I would not likely be thinking of the Lord’s presence in this place, this morning.
Your commentaries are always challenging - something I need. And they help get behind the scriptures to “get” the message.
Sunday 25 January 2009
Living where there is little access to spiritual help/direction, I am finding this site such an inspiration. Thank you and God bless the work
Thursday 15 January 2009
Father Doyle, I look forward every morning to reading your commentary with a cup of tea at the side. In a world of uncertainties, there is a great anchor in the word of God, especially when it is explained with such scholarship and insight. Like many of your readers, I have read the gospels since I was a child. Now, every day, it’s as though I’ve read one for the first time. More than that, I am encouraged to look at my own practise in the light of what I have read. Brilliant.
Tuesday 13 January 2009
Thank you for the inspiration of this wonderful commentary on each day’s Scripture. I read the readings every day, but I have often struggled as to how I can get more meaning for my life and for those I teach. This site has given me much inspiration and space for prayer and reflection. May it continue to inspire all who visit this site and help us all in this year, 2009, to grow closer to knowing who Jesus is for us. What a blessing to have an uplifting page like this at a time when there is so much negativity around. Many thanks and wishing you blessings for 2009.
Tuesday 13 January 2009
So often my attempts to read the bible have foundered because of my own ignorance of the context of what I am reading. I have been left puzzled and frustrated. Thank you for bringing so many passages to life for me.
Sunday 28 December 2008
Thank you for this site. It is truly a blessing that brings me closer to God.
Thursday 25 December 2008
I really look forward doing my prayers through Sacred Space. It has helped me a lot in discerning certain issues I am often confused about. I love the “links” particularly the Spiritual Meditations and am missing it immensely now that it is no longer available on the website. Thank you so much for allowing me to link with you. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and “God’s filled-grace New Year”
Tuesday 23 December 2008
Thank you, for making Advent a time of reflection and prayer . May the Christ Child bring you many graces and blessings as you reach out to the world The Scripture explanations are so helpful Thank You again
Wednesday 17 December 2008
Father Doyle, Your daily reflections are insightful, inspiring, informative and more importantly, inspired by the Holy Spirit. I conduct weekly prayer services and scripture reflections in my parish, a county jail and a hospital. In preparing for these services I always start my preparation by first reading your insights. I also read you reflections daily along with my wife. Reading scripture should be a daily practice for all Catholic Christians but at a minimum, we should prepare for the Sunday Mass readings to help us experience more fully God’s presence at Mass. You make reading scripture a very personal time with the Holy Spirit. May God continue to richly bless you with the gift you generously share with all who seek your insight. Merry Christmas!
Friday 12 December 2008
Thank you Father Doyle for your wonderful commentaries. Recently, one of our deacons read your Sunday commentary verbatim as part of his homily. I winked at him as I left Mass, and said I too had read Sacred Space/Living Space that morning.
Friday 5 December 2008
Thank you for helping me to interpret the scripture and to try to bring its message into my daily life.
Thursday 4 December 2008

Thank you, Father Doyle. So much of scripture is difficult to understand. Your explanation demonstrates not only your ability to teach by making things understandable to us, but also your special gift of insight which can only come from our Lord. May God bless your continued ministry!
Tuesday 11 November 2008
Just a word of thanks and praise to all resposible for this marvellous website. Special thanks to Fr.Doyle for his lively comments on Scripture. If we had more priests like him our churches would be overflowing with enthusiatic parishioners.

Wednesday 29 October 2008
For a long time I have felt the need for guidance in reading and understanding the scriptures. I always felt I was missing something. Earlier this week I googled trying to find something on line that might help me and discovered Scared Space. Thank you so much for fulfilling my need. I have visited daily and find my prayer life much enriched. May God bless you and sustain you in your work.
Saturday 25 October 2008
I read scripture with my 14 year old boy and then my husband and I discuss it with him using your very insightful commentaries. I am understanding the bible more and more! Your work is removing the dust off the diamonds of scripture and making them sparkle. It’s God working through you, thanks for being His vessel.
Friday 24 October 2008
Metanioa,so easy to read about but it so difficult to transform our lives. Pray thay God in His mercy will send His Holy Spirit to change our hearts and minds.
Friday 24 October 2008
As a newcomer to Sacred Space I’m just totally bowled over by the facility it provides for me to meet and speak with Jesus at a very personal level, while also better understanding His words and becoming more familiar with their background and context. The content and structure of the site are both excellent and most helpful. Míle buíochas agus bail ó Dhia ar an obair!
Tuesday 21 October 2008
I just found this web site by Happy chance. This is a welcome ,I am somewhat of a shut in due to a stroke, and have to rely on others. This space is a freedom for me.
Saturday 18 October 2008
Thanks a lot, Fr. Frank. The new site map is a pleasant surprise to me and a welcome development. Keep up with your enriching homilies. I find them sufficient for personal spiritual enrichment and for sharing with my congregation on daily basis. God bless all your works and sacrifices. Indeed, it’s not easy, but you’re doing a great job! Keep it up, brother!
Wednesday 15 October 2008
I’m with Tom - I’ve only just found this whole, rich layer behind Sacred Space. Today’s commentary helped me to understand the meaning of Jesus’ words - what could be more important than that? God bless you for what you are doing for us all.
Wednesday 15 October 2008
Sacred space and Living Space helps so much in understanding the Bible and the teachings of Christ. The reflections help me to stop and quiet down amid the busyness of each day. Thank you for this truly wonderful space!
Tuesday 14 October 2008
Your site was recommended to me by a fellow Catholic and I find this section such an oasis of peace and illumination in an otherwise hectic life. Today’s explanation was particularly poignant as I have always had a problem with the emphasis on rituals in our own church. Very often I have sound myself “going through the motions” while harbouring “unchristian thoughts about some person or another. I really need to make a visit to your site part of my daily “ritual”. Many thanks for the effort in reaching inadequate Christians like myself.
Monday 13 October 2008
I’m learning to use SS/LS in a new way that engages and challenges me more fully, by helping to focus my ever-wandering thoughts. After reading the Scripture several times, I quickly journal my thoughts in 10-20 lines. Only AFTER journaling do I allow myself to read the “need help?” entry or the Living Space expansion on the passage.
Even when I feel numb or confused by the Scripture, I find that putting pen to paper unlocks my mind, yes, even my heart to EXPERIENCE the Word of God. I’m no stranger to the Bible — it was read daily at at the dinner table in our home as I was growing up, especially the OT. Despite that, I’ve struggled for years to find a personal connection to Scripture, especially the Gospels. Sacred Space has moved me into a new relationship with the Word, and journaling with it expands that connection daily. Thanks be to God!
Thanks again to all who minister to the world through Sacred Space/
Living Space!!! Somehow just knowing that SS is always there waiting to be read online is a reminder that God is always there, waiting for us to awaken to his Presence.
Saturday 11 October 2008
After visiting Sacred Space for several years I finally “found” Living Space.
What a blessing! Keep it up and God bless you for what you give us.
Friday 10 October 2008
My ’snail mail’ bible notes dont always reach me because where I live, the powers that be dont encourage such materials. Thanks for living space, its good to be able to read an indepth commentary written in UK english
Sunday 5 October 2008
God Bless your work, and please don’t ever feel that it falls on deaf ears or is not appreciated, I learn so much from it apart form the wonderful spiritual content the English is an education in itself!
Wednesday 1 October 2008
Many many thanks for the huge effort that went into this section of Sacred Space - your explanations really make me feel like the men on the road to Emmaus - my heart burns within me, as I gain a much greater understanding of the scriptures. God bless
Monday 29 September 2008
Praise God for Sacred Space & Living Space! You are God’s way of helping out people like me who wish to adhere to God’s call to set one’s self apart & abide by His Word & persevere towards holiness through the Sacred Space. I truly say Living Space gives great guidance in living out God’s Word allowing authentic sharing of the Word of God in our cell group.
Monday 15 September 2008
Thanks to Sacred Space,my life is a constant prayer.I can see Jesus through the love shown to me by others.I am constantly aware of Jesus by my side.I have been reawakened and am slowly reaping the rewards of my prayers.Praise to you our Lord Jesus CHRIST.
Saturday 13 September 2008
Thank you so much for this site! I use it while the menfolk are watching ‘Match of the Day’. I am a lay preacher (not RC) who heard about it through a course on Ignatian spirituality. I am going through a difficult phase of my life at present and the discipline of following suggestions helps when I can’t focus my own mind very well. Please pray for me.
Wednesday 3 September 2008
Thank you for the addition of Living Space. Two days in a row it has both blessed and convicted me (in a good way). Love the perspective of everyone holding off til sundown on Sabbath to bring their sick to Jesus and him spending the whole night healing them…and then going off to a quiet place to pray. Reminds me that where our source of strength always has to be in refilling with the presence of the Lord. Thanks.
Wednesday 3 September 2008
Living Space (what a good rich title) is a wonderful way of preaching the gospel. The amount of prayer, scholarship, and years of careful reflection that lie at the base of your writing! (And thanks to your Sacred Heart novena page, I think I can hear a preacher’s own voice each day; these brief homilies speak heart to heart.) I am very grateful. It’s a great resource.
Saturday 30 August 2008
I have been looking for some kind of regularity in my scripture reading besides reading chapter to chapter from Genesis to Revelations. I stumbled upon Sacred Space while surfing the internet, and today’s readings and commentary really resonated with me. I like Jane’s comments about tuning into your wavelength, and I felt that today. I appreciate the prayer guidance from Sacred Space, as well as your commentary from Living Space to solidify the readings. — I am a new Christian looking for different ways to live out my Christian faith. Thank you!
Friday 29 August 2008
LivingSpace is awesome, you can understand the bible much better when someone else is teaching it. But also you have no other choice but to read and pray when you start reading Sacred Space. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful tool around the world. Love always
Tuesday 26 August 2008
Sacred Space is a new experience for me. I am finding it is truly enriching my spiritual life. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.
Thursday 21 August 2008
Thank you for the sacred space site, the novena was a prayerful and blessed experience for me, and I am happy to have found this new link to living space. God Bless you
Tuesday 19 August 2008
I cannot begin to tell you how much the commentaries have helped me to understand certain difficult concepts in the Bible. What a joy it was today to see that a reference to the Scriptural text has been put in place which makes life so much easier. Many many thanks to all who made it possible. Bless you all.
Monday 18 August 2008
Yes, it is very inclusive and that is wonderful. What I’d like is that Living Space and also Sacred Space become a some sort of spiritual hub where each one of us would have a spiritual link with all other people inside a community
Saturday 16 August 2008
I have just discovered this site. Thank you. It is very clear and spiritual. As an Anglican I rejoice that the readings are the same as in my lectionary. It’s good that we can share this as Christians. Every blessing, Wendy
Thursday 14 August 2008
I want to write in appreciation of the daily scripture commentaries. I read them after daily Mass to better understand the context of the reading, and to add any way I can to my understanding of them. While the major moral and spiritual lessons of each reading are highlighted, the author seems always careful to leave ample room for my own personal “interaction” with the reading (I am not referring to a wish for moral relativism or anything here though!). In other words, what I love the most is that they do not interfere with or attempt to predict what God is wanting to say to me personally that day through His Word. I so appreciate the humility and restraint of the author for that. Please keep up the good work. Your reflections are different and better in this way than many, many others I have read.
Tuesday 12 August 2008
As a protestant who reads, meditates and prays with you daily I am reminded that Bible reading and study is a protestant strength. The Eucharist is the liturgical church’s strength. We have much to teach each other.
Saturday 9 August 2008
God is so great! Praise be the Lord! Allow me to congratulate the priests behind the Living Space. God is the one leading me to Living Space. And I am very thankful to Him. Yes…!!! I can now often reflect the message from the Bible. Frankly speaking, I used to read the Bible as long as I like but not daily because I was kind of preoccupied. This is my first time in the Living Space. I know God will reward those individuals who help save even a single soul.. Thank you.. and More power!
Saturday 9 August 2008
Thanks. It has added my inputs in the knowledge of God. I can also share the reflections in my radio program. God is so wonderful..
Friday 8 August 2008
Today I followed the suggestion to remain after the prayers, readings and commentary and invited Jesus the sit next to me at my computer niche. I closed my eyes and he was right there. At my asking about the spiritual problem that has bothered me for years, I listened for quite sometime to his enlightening words feeling his fatherly love and consolation. Interestingly enough, the explanations came in the easy style of Fr. Doyle although the topics of the day’s readings were not related with what was bothering me.
Having been reading the commentaries for over three years, I wonder if there is any possibility of all three cycles’ commentaries might be published. As a retired Catechist in the RCIA program, I would have loved to have Fr. Doyle’s commentaries: so easy to read, understand, and penetrating that it brings God alive in us in the Old Testament and Jesus as God made man in the New.
The day that started rather wearily (I’m 85 years old) this morning changed into a joyous one when I conversed with Jesus that gave me unthinkable insights that had never occurred to me before on the subject of marriage relationships, sex, the mystery of creation, and of the earthly desire involved in the process of creating life as God designed for his creatures in a normal way.
Thursday 7 August 2008
Dear Rev. Fr. Doyle, As your student in Wah Yan College Hong Kong back in the 1960s, I cannot help but express great joy in reading the insightful, informative and easy to read commentaries that you have written for the Sacred Space community. They are marvellous as they have helped me to understand the gospels in a much deeper and wider perspective, and how they relate to us today. No doubt it is called the “Living Space”.
Your commentaries are so good that I wish to share them with lots of others. May God continue to bless you in your sacred work.
Sunday 3 August 2008
Thank you - for the much easier access. The shorter Sacred Space is good for daily use when time is restricted - for weekends, and for sharing with small groups, helping to prepare for Sunday Eucharist, this is a tremendous help.
Friday 1 August 2008
I have shared this site with friends here in the U.S., Ireland, and Poland. Although miles separate us, we are joined in common prayer, which strengthens us. I like the “space” in the meditations . . . few but powerful words, no visual clutter to divert the mind. The prayer of St. Ignatius Loyola was particularly meaningful to me in this stage of my journey. Thank you.
Friday 1 August 2008
I have had a hard time with Matthew, but had an epiphany. All the burning the chaff stuff doesn’t have to mean that many will burn in hell, but that the chaff in each of us will be burnt away, leaving us in purity.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to get to know and to be closer to our Lord Jesus. I am a transcriptionist and I spend most of the day with a computer. I try to start each day with the Sacred Space and Living Space. Again, many thanks. God bless you all…
Thursday 31 July 2008
I just discovered Living Space though I have been a long time reading and reflecting on your daily Scripture Readings. Thank you for this new addition and for those of you who work so hard to bring us closer to God.
Monday 28 July 2008
I very much appreciate the commentaries on the daily Bible readings. I read the Bible Mass readings every day and a commentary on them from the publication Bible Alive. However I find your commentaries very helpful and inspiring and they complement my studies on the Old and New Testament which I am doing through your Milltown Institute. I also visit your Sacred Space which is very helpful to my prayer life. Many thanks for a wonderful site.
Thursday 24 July 2008
Thank you! This is wonderful, excellent, just what I am looking for.
Gratefully
Tuesday 22 July 2008
Thank you for this wonderful site and for all the hard work that goes into preparing the commentary and for sharing the insights. It’s so life-giving and inspirational. May God bless you all.
Monday 21 July 2008
I am hoping that beginning with this Novena will bring me to feeling that I am back to the flock of God’s grace.
Monday 21 July 2008
Dear Fr. , Thank you so much for this is section.Today is my first day of reading this. I was a little not so sure of myself and a little disturbed. umm…didn’t quite know how to listen to Him today - amidst all the turmoils and ….
I was silently sitting in prayer and that is when it struck me I had read a book by St.Francis De Sales. It was a great help then.I was thinking if I could find such reflections once again. It is so much God inspired that I logged on to find this.
Thank you so much Fr dear - this is so life saving.
You and your team are fondly remembered in my prayers.
Friday 18 July 2008
Thank you very much for this special moment .. I found this site one day … when I arrived at my office and turned on my work PC … Oh My God , It was a blessing for me … these spiritual reflections giving me strength to continue with so much peace and hope and with the will of God. Bless all the people to make possible this beautiful and good work.
Friday 18 July 2008
God bless you for allowing me to start my day with your prayer space. It is the first site I go to when I sign in at work. I believe I’m a better supervisor because of your reflections. Thank you, In Christ, Sheila
Wednesday 16 July 2008
I have just found this site, today, and would like to comment on the feelings I have while reading these words. Peaceful. Calm. Thoughtful. Reassured. Grateful. Comforted. And many more. Truly a blessing. Thank you, Father Doyle for your generous help and prayers. We are in great need of such help, much more than I am able to express at the moment. God bless you and everyone who contributes to this good work. Amen.
Sunday 13 July 2008
I just discovered your website yesterday and found it extremely instructive and interesting. The comments are thorough with great background for them. Together with the Irish Jesuits’ Daily thoughts and prayers [http://www.sacredspace.ie], they are a great combination encouraging to take the time daily in a spiritual way right from home. Many thanks for your work, I’ll pass this around among my church friends and Bible Study group.
Thursday 10 July 2008
Thanks so much for these reflections. We use them as a basis for our spiritual reflection at our weekly SVP meeting. (St Vincent de Paul Society) I usually choose the Gospel for the following Sunday, but for tonight’s meeting I have chosen today’s reading from Hosea, which is so beautiful and your thoughts on it are beautiful too. If we can learn from Hosea’s expression of the Lord’s relationship with us then I hope that will inspire us in our relationships with the people we are involved with in our SVP activity. We find your reflections very helpful Thanks again for the time, effort and prayer which you put in to produce them.
Wednesday 9 July 2008
A most instructive and consoling site. Many thanks, I am aware of the time and effort invested.
Monday 7 July 2008
I stumbled upon this link from the “mother-site,” Sacred Space, and am so very grateful for the words and reflections that open the Word in this way. I have shared this site/link with those seekers I have in spiritual direction and have used your insights for presentations with adults and in retreat work. I thank you for the time and prayer that goes into and flows from the Word of God as it lives in your own heart. My heartfelt prayers for you and your personal ongoing journey into Mystery.
Saturday 5 July 2008
I like the recent changes to Living Space. It is so easy now to find commentary on the day’s readings. And the commentaries themselves are instructive and insightful, as always. Thank you very much.
Saturday 5 July 2008
Thank you so much for Frank Doyle’s excellent and enlightening commentaries. I find they make all the difference to my engagement with Sacred Space daily prayer as I do usually need some help in interpreting the scripture passages. I am especially grateful for the manner in which Frank Doyle is able to relate them to daily practical living. Extremely thought-provoking too, and thoughts to take with me through the day.
Friday 4 July 2008
Your thoughts are refreshing and inspiring and in the new format can be accessed [from New Zealand] before celebrating the Eucharist, which is a great blessing. Thank you.
Wednesday 2 July 2008
Dear Fr. Doyle you are doing a good job for our Catholic community.Your thoughts are so wonderful;and the way you are presenting is also supposed to be appreciated. In a special way it helps me a lot.Thank you very much. Please continue this mission.
Antony.
Monday 30 June 2008
I really appreciate the commentary with the exegetical explanation made on the readings. The application of the message of the reading is much welcome as well. I find much help in them for my own personal spiritual enrichment as much as for the congregation I minister to in weekday masses.
Friday 27 June 2008
Delighted to have access to site, but thanks must go not only to those involved in setting it up,but also to the Sacred Heart Messanger magazine, without it we wouldnt know about our new “Sacred Space family”. I particurlarly love the personalised novena prayer. It does make a difference. Must go and do some community evangelising!
Friday 27 June 2008
Frank Doyle’s recent commentaries on the Beatitudes and their application to our lives were excellent. I copied them and distributed them to the staff in my school - both for themselves and as a study background to RE work with the kids. Thank you very much.
Friday 27 June 2008
I read the commentaries in Living Space immediately after I read the daily missal and I find it enormously helpful in sorting out our Christian attitude to God in our life. In particular, I would like to mention Fr Doyle’s commentary on 2 Kgs 24:8-17 on Thursday 26 June, as I find the concluding paragragh the best advice anyone has ever given me.
Thank you Fr Doyle.
Wednesday 18 June 2008
I discovered this site a few days ago through the Portuguese Jesuit site.
Since then, daily, I usually start with prayer suggestions in the Portuguese site (I think they follow a structure influenced by the Exercises of St Inácio) and then proceed to reading your comments.
I thank you enormously for your enlightening comments and for the enormous amount of work and commitment involved.
Thank you very, very much,
from a Portuguese reader,
Paula

This is the first time I have made any comments on a web site. I am at a loss to find words to express my appreciation and gratitude and would just like to endorse all those remarks already made. Please continue the good work
Wednesday 18 June 2008
I am happy to have found this site.
While I found it through links which start at a trail from the youth group web site for my parish, as an adult, the richness of your site and its companion site makes me content while I sit at my computer today.
It is an amazing opportunity.

The flower is the fruit of the seed, (displayed in your new layout). Father Doyle’s reflections, intuitive insight, but most of all, his knowledge, blossoms for me in living space. Philip journeyed with the eunuch, enlightening him, resulting in his baptism, although already Catholic, I feel I am on a spiritual journey with Father Doyle. If we want to know, love and follow Our Lord more nearly, deeply and clearly, then Sacred Space and Living Space is the space to be in. Thank you so very much for your guidance, direction and invaluable brotherhood. Changes are so important to growth, I pray with you that the changes will produce rich fruit in us all.
Wednesday 11 June 2008
This is a wonderful layout and provides real depth. I wish Living Space was linked better to the Sacred Space thoughts for the Day - as it took me over 3 years before I found Living Space and I was actually searching for more in depth reviews. I completed the Sacred Space questionaire last year and this was exactly what I was looking and asking for- and it was already available ! This updated format makes everything so much clearer but perhaps a tag att he end of the daily thoughts indicating ” More thoughts …” would be useful. The Holy Spirit will help us to find the way. Thank You to all who work so hard to put this wonderful work together !
Tuesday 10 June 2008
Thank you for this beautiful new way to access commentary on the readings, commentary that somehow seems to lift the sense of loneliness in solitary, dark prayer. I have needed a light in the darkness.
Sunday 8 June 2008
thank you Fr. for the reflection on the readings of today, Sunday 8th June ‘08. Your reflection so beautifully reflects on the need for compassion, something that I find difficult, because it requires getting involved in ‘messy’ situations.
You have provided much food for thought and reflection, and I am very grateful for the grace I have received to read it; I pray now that I will ask the Lord for the courage not to turn away from messy situations, so I can be more deserving of the badge ‘Catholic’.
Friday 6 June 2008
I thank Fr. Doyle and all of the others who provide Sacred Space which leads my morning readings and prayer time. Your approach stills my heart and makes me ready to hear God speaking to me. It encourages this protestant reader to see Catholics and protestants uniting in study and prayer as Christians, not members of any denomination. Catholics are learning more bible; protestants are learning liturgics and church history: this is good! I pray for you all.
Wednesday 4 June 2008
I have been reading Sacred Space and Living Space for 4 years now since retiring from work with ill health. I find the new format to be excellent. I am unable to get to mass when I am ill and this way I can keep up with the relevant readings. Thank you very much.
Tuesday 3 June 2008
I find the new format excellent! Kudos to the one(s) who designed it. Preparation of my homilies always begins with consulting Fr. Doyle’s most valuable comments. I’m so grateful for this! What I truly appreciate is that he presents both an exegesis of the texts and a way to let them speak to us today.
Tuesday 3 June 2008
How inclusive ! Sacred Space is Living Space! What a great format, Thanks for sharing insight/reflecion to daily scripture. How blessed I am to be enriched, nourished with the breath of God each day. Thank you all. The format is great.. Blessings, Ellen
Thursday 29 May 2008
I’ve been reading the daily prayer for several years now, and LivingSpace is an exceptional addition, providing meaningful insight to the scriptures and helping me grow in my personal relationship with God, in the person of Jesus Christ.
Thursday 29 May 2008
Thank you again for this beautiful, beautiful work. It is blessed and I am learning so much from it.
Wednesday 28 May 2008
Thank you so much for these daily readings and commentaries. They have been very helpful to me. May God abundantly bless everyone that is involved in this form of evangelization. This new layout is so much better. I could not ask for more. God bless!
Monday 26 May 2008
I find the new format to be excellent. Thank you so much ! I have just arrived home from a stint in hospital and have not been able to travel to St. John’s at Richmond, Tasmania, Australia to attend mass. The fact that I can log in each morning and read the gospel and the readings etc. is of considerable comfort. I thank you very much for all of your work and your caring.
Friday 23 May 2008
I have used Sacred Space for a number of years, generally in the evening so as to prepare for the hour of prayer the next day. Only recently have I found LivingSpace but it is like a further treasure trove ready for opening. Thank you.
Wednesday 21 May 2008
Sooooooooo much better and easier to access the reflections–was a little confusing the other way. Thank you for this beautiful site — it has helped me center on God every morning before I go to work. When I was troubled or anxious it helped me become peaceful. God bless you all who are involved with Sacred Space. It is such a blessing!
Wednesday 21 May 2008
Congratulations on the new format — it’s SO pleasing and accessible!
Regardless of format, I find the Living Space service to be nurturing and inspiring. I wish I could get more of those I know to avail themselves of this wonderful gift. I’ve used Sacred Space for 3+ years, but having just this year discovered and read LS regularly, I find the entire website to be indispensable in my life.
I’ve always believed that Christ’s church is universal and underground, crossing all national, political and religious barriers, and reading this website proves my point, joyfully. Thanks to all who labor to keep improving and developing SS, and God’s blessings and peace be with you all!
Saturday 17 May 2008
I think the new layout is very good and not overly long. James’s remarks on the power of the tongue makes one sit up and take notice.
Saturday 17 May 2008
Yes, I think the new format is more accessible. As a Protestant ,I often found myself stumbling around in weeks of the Catholic church calendar trying to find the appropriate readings.
I am so grateful for your daily thoughts. I keep a kind of spiritual journal of ideas that have particular resonance for me: you would find many of your comments there. Somehow I’m tuned to your wave length. Thank you.
Monday 12 May 2008
I start my day with Living Space—I really appreciate its insights into Scripture and I’m thankful that someone was ready to take on the huge job of daily commentary.
I like the new format. It’s very attractive and clear.
